Understanding the World

Our problem is that we don’t pay attention to what we actually know. We give our attention to what we think – to what we have ideas or beliefs about – and we discard what we actually see.

Steve Hagen talks about how we deal with the world. Often we make attempts to ‘understand’ it, offer an explanation and by boxing Reality up and claiming a mode of thinking is Truth, we leave other things out. But there is never a static Reality – it not something you can clearly define. Reality is completely fluid. We can strive to be free from intolerant beliefs, beliefs that are uni-dimensional, beliefs that claim there is one Truth and insisting on certain outcomes.
